2nd Bulgakov Society Dinner

On Friday the 16th of August 2019, the Bulgakov Society held its second dinner of the year. The event was well attended, by a great many existing fans of Bulgakov’s literature, and a few who were new to his work. As usual the atmosphere was festive, exciting and somewhat mysterious, taking on the style of Bulgakov’s fiction. We enjoyed a dramatic reading in parallel English and Russian from his darkly comic autobiographical work A Young Doctor’s Notebook, a speech by Dr. Uther Charlton-Stevens about Magic Realism in the Master and Margarita and Heart of a Dog, followed by a quiz on all things Bulgakov! The dinner provided wonderful food and wines, and plenty of opportunities to meet new and interesting people. We hope to see you next time!
