visiting bulgakov museum in moscow

17 November 2019

In November 2019, members of the Bulgakov Society visited the Bulgakov Museum in Moscow. Julia Charlton and Anastasia Gordeeva went to several excursions, visited the house of the Master and Margarita – the heroes of Bulgakov’s most famous novel, and also checked the apartment of the writer. An interesting part of the program was a walk along the Patriarshiye Ponds – the legendary place from the novel “The Master and Margarita”, where the characters of the story talked about the meaning of life, sitting on a bench. Also, members of the Bulgakov Society had a chance to visit the house of the Mikhail Bulgakov`s uncle, who became the prototype of one of the heroes of the novel “Heart of a Dog” Dr Preobrazhensky. Like all Bulgakov’s works, each of the excursions was filled with an atmosphere of mystery and magic. A visit to the Bulgakov Museum and other places related to his life and work is a great opportunity to learn more about the writer and see the beautiful places of the capital of Russia.
